Postcard Backs

I like to use watercolor postcards for the back of my fiber postcards. Here's how they look when done. Chris

Good News!

Happy to hear I've had my piece "Secrets" accepted into the Images quilt show in Lowell, Mass this year. Also, three of my other art quilts have been accepted to hang at Minnetrista, a cultural center in Muncie Indiana, for a month this summer. These were juried into a competition sponsored by the Quilter's Hall of Fame in Marion, Indiana, in conjunction with Minnetrista.

The Painted Bench

Time for a new look on my front porch. Decided the dark green bench would look more alive if I painted it the color of the geraniums in the pot, so I did! Love it, adds a lot of spark to the porch.

Mothers and Sons

Today I made this piece, the figures are made with watercolor pencils.
This was a fun technique which I expect to use again. The piece measures about a foot square. It is not quilted yet.

Escape

Here's my May Art Quilt for the SAQA group. It's called Escape. I had the circles left over from another project, and then embellished with heavy gold thread circles, by filling the bobbin with the thread and sewing from the wrong side of the piece. The circles seem to be coming out from under the left side batik, hence the name escape. One circle has already made it to freedom! The piece is one foot square.
